Amante 1530 was crafted for modern Spritz culture

A new Italian aperitivo has arrived in the Australian market, with Amante 1530 now available nationwide.

Produced at the Pallini Distillery in Rome and developed with Italian winemaker Riccardo Cotarella, Amante 1530 offers a modern take on the category, balancing a lower sugar profile with a complex flavour designed for versatility behind the bar.

Billed as a drier aperitivo option, Amante 1530 sits at 15 per cent ABV and contains around 20 per cent less sugar than many traditional aperitifs. Its botanical profile includes Italian-grown orange peel, chamomile, vanilla and gentian root, offering a flavour that sits somewhere between sweet and bitter.

The aperitif has been positioned to appeal to contemporary drinkers looking for lighter, more balanced options that still deliver on depth. While well suited for classic Spritz-style serves, it suits a wide range of cocktails, such as the Palombo, which pairs Amante 1530 with tequila, grapefruit and lime.

Amante 1530 Co-founder and CEO Ana Rosenstein says unlike syrupy spritzes or overly bitter amaros, Amante 1530 was designed to be sessionable yet structured.

“Most spritzes are either too sweet or too forgettable,” Ana stated. “We created something you’d actually want to drink neat. It’s the intersection of elegance and ease.”

The brainchild of Ana and a close circle of friends, the concept for Amante 1530 came to be during a dinner in Tuscany.

“We were surrounded by laughter, good food, and better wine. Everyone had a Spritz in hand, and we thought, what if there was something we actually wanted to drink ourselves? Drier, more complex, more grown-up,” says Ana.

The brand draws on its Italian heritage, referencing the founding year of Il Palagio (1530) and tarot traditions in its naming, while leaning into premium positioning. From the ridged Italian glass bottle to vintage aesthetic, every detail is intentional.

“The lovers card in the tarot inspired everything from our name to our bottle design. It’s about savouring the moment with people you love,” Ana continued.

“We wanted [the bottle] to feel like it had always been on the back bar of your favorite Roman café, but still stand out on a shelf in Australia.”

Crafted for modern Spritz culture, Amante 1530 is now available to the on-premise nationwide.

“We’re already in six countries and growing fast. But our real goal is to build something lasting; something that becomes part of culture. I want people to say Amante the way they say Martini or Negroni.

“Australia’s appreciation for sunshine, flavour, and casual elegance made it the perfect launch market. It’s a place where ritual meets spontaneity,” Ana concluded.
