An Easter inspired cocktail menu

Written by Mar 17, 2024Bars and Clubs

These cocktails are inspired by Easter and heavily feature the chocolatey creamy elements we all love about the holiday.

Easter is a great time to get creative and think about putting something a bit different and a lot of fun on your cocktail menu.

These are my personal twists on recipes I’ve tried at home, and we’d love to see how you interpret Easter themed cocktails too! Be sure to send us your creations and tag us on Instagram.

Bailey’s Easter Egg Cocktail

Inspired by this recipe on Taste that is supposed to make eight, this was deliciously creamy and perfect for Easter. After several failed attempts to thread a solid choc egg onto a stick, I realised I bought the wrong type of egg and had to switch things up.

Bailey’s Easter Egg Cocktail

Ingredients:

  • 30ml Bailey’s Irish Cream
  • 30ml Vodka
  • 50ml Thickened cream, plus extra whipped cream to serve
  • Mini chocolate egg
  • Chocolate sauce
  • Chocolate powder

Directions:

  1. Shake Bailey’s, vodka and cream with ice
  2. Rim glass with chocolate sauce
  3. Strain liquid into glass
  4. Add a dollop of whipped cream to the centre
  5. Sift chocolate powder over the top
  6. Garnish with mini chocolate egg on a stick. If your egg is solid, try putting toothpicks in each end

Easter Egg Shot

Dan Murphy’s Liquor Library has this great recipe that I’ve tailored to make two shots. They suggest also making your own spiced gin and have the directions for that too, but I haven’t attempted that here as it takes four to five days.

Easter Egg Shot

Ingredients:

  • 30ml Gin
  • 30ml Hazelnut liqueur
  • 30ml Coconut cream
  • 1 squirt chocolate sauce
  • 2 Hollow ‘hunting’ chocolate eggs
  • Whipped cream and chocolate powder to garnish

Directions:

  1. Shake the gin, liqueur, cream and chocolate sauce in a shaker with ice
  2. Carefully cut the tops off the chocolate eggs, and sit them in a shot glass
  3. Strain the liquid into the eggs
  4. Top with a small dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle with chocolate powder

Boozy Easter Milkshake

Mine looks nowhere near as good as it’s inspiration from Foodism, but dang it tasted good. I added a little extra alcohol (or Easter ‘spirits’), and topped it with whatever I already had lying around – the possibilities are endless with this one.

Boozy Easter Milkshake

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Bailey’s Irish Cream
  • 30ml Hazelnut Liqueur
  • 30ml Vodka
  • 2 Tablespoons chocolate sauce
  • 2 Scoops vanilla icecream
  • 50ml milk
  • 1 large hollow easter egg
  • Yummy things to garnish

Directions:

  1. Blitz everything but the egg and garnishes in a blender
  2. Carefully cut the top off a large easter egg and sit it in some form of short glass
  3. Drizzle some chocolate sauce around the edge of the egg
  4. Pour the blender contents into the egg
  5. Top with anything yummy – like whipped cream, ice cream, crumbled chocolate eggs etc
