Crown Melbourne announces new bar The Henley

The Henley is the first venue announcement from Crown Melbourne as the Southbank destination begins its redevelopment.

Slated to open in 2024, the Mitchell & Eades-designed bar will take over from Rosetta, which is closing its doors on 18 May.

“The announcement of The Henley at Crown Melbourne signifies the start of what is to come for Crown,” says Mike Volkert, Crown Melbourne CEO.

“We are looking to create a portfolio of restaurants and bars that bring together the best culinary and bartender talent from across the world combined with the best local talent and inimitable Melbourne flavour to create the city’s most sought-after hospitality destination.”

The venue’s centrepiece is a U-shaped marble bar, with the space also encompassing an outdoor terrace area as well as indoor seating.

Overall, The Henley will focus on Victorian producers across its food and beverage offering, with local drops to take pride of place on the wine list.

While there’s no dishes confirmed just yet, plates will follow a modern Australian culinary direction.

More info to come.
