GABS Hottest 100 chart topper Mountain Culture Beer Co has announced plans to expand its hospitality footprint with the opening of a new inner-city joint and the appointment of a new executive.

Slated to open in November, the new Redfern site will be Mountain Culture’s third venue, complementing the existing Katoomba and Emu Plains venues, with all three situated in New South Wales.

DJ McCready, Mountain Culture Co-founder and CEO, commented: “This venue represents a pivotal moment for our brand. We’re not just opening a new venue; we’re doing it the Mountain Culture way, with a focus on creating something new and exciting.”

Drawing on two decades of experience in Sydney’s hospitality scene, including his most recent stint as Merivale’s Head of Beverage, Ollie Stuart has been appointed Group Venue Manager to steer the brewery through this growth period.

Mountain Culture’s second Co-founder Harriet McCready said: “Ollie knows the Sydney hospitality scene inside and out and his expertise, and cocktail knowledge, will elevate our hospitality offering and strengthen this growing part of our business.”

Stuart added: “I’ve been a long time supporter of the brand. Joining Mountain Culture at this exciting time is a tremendous opportunity. We’re looking to create a venue that not only serves exceptional beers but also consistently delivers friendly service, great food and a wide range of drinks with personality.”

Expanding Mountain Culture’s capabilities for experimental and creative brewing programs, the Redfern venue will become home to Mountain Culture’s first ever barrel program, allowing the brewery to craft exclusive beers aged in and blended from barrels including ex-bourbon and Australian rum.

Patrons can also expect to find Mountain Culture’s award-winning core range on tap in Redfern, complemented by rotating limited releases and a full range of beers for takeaway.

The beverage offering will be rounded out with a selection of cocktails, local spirits, wines and non-alcoholic options, served alongside a food menu comprising shareable dishes, bar snacks and larger sharing plates.
