Hospitality New Zealand confirmed a change of leadership at today’s Annual General Meeting, with new president, Kristy Phillips, taking over from outgoing president, Nick Keene.

Steve Armitage, Chief Executive of Hospitality New Zealand, thanks Nick for his eight years on the Board and four years as President of the association.

“Nick has presided over one of the most turbulent periods our sector has had to endure, and has done this with a clear and calm demeanour which has earned him great respect,” he says.

“He has also been a staunch advocate for the change we have undertaken in recent times, giving great confidence to me and the team to embrace new ways of doing things. We wish him well for the future.”

Armitage says they welcome Kristy Phillips as she takes the presidential reigns.

“Kristy has been a strong voice around our board table for the last seven years, most recently serving as Vice President, and we look forward to her continued contributions to the organisation as President.”

Hospitality New Zealand also welcomes new board members Alexander Siebentritt (Nelson) and Garth Solly (Northland), and acknowledges outgoing board member Simon White (Wellington).

Siebentritt was also the recipient of the Lynn Braddock Award, presented at the AGM for dedication and service at a Hospitality NZ Branch level.
