Independent Beverage Partners (IBP) has announced the launch of Louis Morette Grand Reserve Champagne into the IBA Network.

The wine has scored highly among a range of wine writers with Huon Hooke scoring it at 90, as did JamesSuckling.com, while Wine Spectator awarding it 89 points and The Tasting Panel gave it an impressive 94 points.

In a statement about the wine, IBP said: “Louis Morette is owned by GH Martel, the oldest family-run producer in the Champagne region, established in 1869. GH Martel boasts the oldest cellar in Champagne, recognised as a UNESCO heritage site, adding a rich historical significance to every bottle.

“The winemaker behind Louis Morette Grand Reserve, Christophe Rapeneau, is a fourth generation family winemaker who was honoured as Sparkling Winemaker of the Year in 2017 at the International Wine Challenge (IWC). He is also included in the Top 100 Winemakers as awarded by The Drinks Business in 2024, further highlighting his expertise and dedication to the craft.”

The Louis Morette Grand Reserve Brut Champagne, with 10 grams per litre of residual sugar, the blend is 45 per cent Pinot Noir, 34 per cent Pinot Meunier and 21 per cent Chardonnay. Louis Morette is aged for two years on lees, and IBP said the Champagne “promises a sophisticated experience, perfect for any celebration or special occasion”.

The Champagne will be available in Cellarbrations, Porters Liquor, IGA Bottle Shops, and The Bottle-O from October this year.
