Stan’s bar opens at Howard Smith Wharves

Brisbane’s Howard Smith Wharves precinct is set to welcome a new addition this Thursday.

Stan’s Lounge Bar is a spin-off brand of Louis Tikaram’s Stanley restaurant, which is owned by Artemus Group.

The restaurant’s second level has been transformed to make way for Stan’s, which channels old-world Hong Kong across its interior fit-out and menu – think jewel tones, antique wall panels, and plush curtains.

A vintage JBL sound system has been installed at the bar, which will see DJs spin vinyls throughout the week.

On the drinks front, classics are the go at Stan’s. The bar has a dedicated martini menu which allows guests to select their choice of spirit (vodka or gin) as well as bitters and extracts to suit their taste.

The venue also stocks a range of rare spirits, with some dating as far back to the ’60s, along with limited releases.

Tikaram has put together a bar menu that comprises small plates designed for guests to share.

“My aim was to design a menu to complement the vibrant energy of Stan’s, with every dish crafted to elevate your experience,” says the chef.

“Bringing refined Cantonese flavours to life in a way that feels modern, approachable, and perfect for sharing alongside great music and drinks.”

Highlights include crayfish sang choy bao; steamed lobster and truffle dumplings; and duck pancakes served with cucumber and hoisin.

“We’ve reimagined a space that captures the charm of Hong Kong’s past while delivering an unforgettable bar experience where people can come together to enjoy exceptional drinks, food, music, and service,” says Adam Flaskas, owner of Stanley and Howard Smith Wharves.

“It’s an elevated offering while keeping the fun front and centre. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to Stan’s.”

Stan’s is open Monday to Thursday from 3pm until 1am and Friday to Sunday from 12pm until 1am.
