After a six-month refurbishment of the space, Trippas White Group will reopen Centennial Homestead with new venues The Paddock and The Treehouse.
Centennial Homestead is nestled in the serene beauty of Sydney’s Centennial Parklands, on the Lang Rd side of the park. The Paddock will be a ‘picturesque dining location’ open daily for breakfast and lunch. The Treehouse is a rooftop bar promising casual daytime meals, sunset drinks with locally-produced spirits, and a panoramic view over the park.
Head Chef Liam Kavanaugh devised The Paddock’s menu, serving meals that hero local produce and seasonal and native ingredients. Highlights including tempura zucchini flowers with pumpkin, goats curd, dukkha, and chilli oil; roast half chicken with roasted vegetables, wattle seed bread sauce, and spinach harissa; grain fed angus top sirloin MB2+ with charred broccolini, saltbush onion rings, and cafe de Paris; and mille-feuille with watermelon caviar, blood orange sorbet, and mango cream.
“We’re so excited to be opening The Paddock and Treehouse venues at Centennial Homestead to Sydneysiders,” says Trippas White Group CEO Kevin Zajax.
“We want to welcome guests, far and wide, and those planning events to experience the dynamic new venues and their delicious, nature-inspired food and drinks that reflect the surroundings.” Zajax added that the venues are a celebration of the local community through local charm.
The group is known for its venues in iconic locations such as Sydney Tower, Taronga Zoo, and the National Gallery of Australia. Its parkland venues include Queens Park Kitchen, Botanic House in Sydney’s Botanic Gardens, and Terrace on the Domain.
Trippas White is partnering with highly lauded Sydney distillery, Archie Rose. The Treehouse’s drinks menu features premium cocktails designed by the distillery.
To celebrate the launch, The Paddock is hosting ‘A Journey Through Nature & Spirits’ – a bespoke three-course meal paired with cocktails by Archie Rose Ambassador Dan Ritchie.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Centennial Homestead to launch their new venues. Archie Rose prides itself in showcasing the highest quality Australian ingredients through its products, and that is exactly what The Paddock’s menu concept is based around,” said Archie Rose ambassador Dan Ritchie.
Archie Rose has also created a special edition Centennial Garden Gin which features native ingredients such as raspberry, native thyme, and sunrise lime, inspired by natives from the park.
