The team behind some of Sydney’s most iconic establishments has announced a new restaurant – The International in Martin Place.

The Point Group’s latest addition is set to open its doors in November in the heart of the CBD, offering guests a drinking and dining experience across three concepts: The Wine Bar, The Grill, and The Panorama Bar.

“Our team has had the opportunity to pull together this new project with total creative freedom and without limitations to define a new standard of big-city dining,” says Owner Brett Robinson.

“The International is not just a restaurant; it will be a social and culinary destination where the only rule is that the food, the wine, and the hand-crafted beverages must be delicious and of exceptional quality and the service dedicated, inspired, and authentic.”

Culinary Director Joel Bickford is heading up the kitchen at The Grill, and is aiming to “set a new standard in big-city dining in Sydney”.

The dining room has been fitted out a walnut bar with room for four and an open kitchen.

Accents of polished stainless steel and geometric marble flooring are found throughout the space which will also feature a display of the day’s seafood on ice.

“Ultimately, it’s about the food; provenance, best-in-class produce, seasonality, and simplicity with absolutely no cutting corners,” says Bickford.

The Wine Bar has capacity for 160 guests across a piazza-style courtyard (with its own bar); a wine bar located on the terrace overlooking Martin Place; and a circular dining room.

Food and Beverage Director Alex Kirkwood is in his element here, putting together a by-the-glass wine list and a drinks program to suit “even the most discerning of diners”.

Executive Chef Danny Corbett will focus on small plates when it comes to the food, with global influences found throughout dishes.

The final piece of the puzzle is The Panorama Bar, which is arguably the jewel of the venue. This bar is located on the top floor of the restaurant and features a light food offering put together by both Bickford and Corbett.

Bartender Josh Reynolds is behind the cocktail offering, with plenty of Champagne and Chablis options available. Guests can expect a ‘sip and snack’ vibe, with the venue open for all-day dining and late-night drinking.

The International joins The Point Group’s portfolio which currently consists of Shell House, The Dolphin Hotel, Hotel Harry, Hotel Canobolas in Orange. The group will also launch a hospitality offering on Fort Denison.

Official opening date of The International to come.
