The tourism body has announced the appointment of Dr Paresh Pant as its new chief executive officer following a global recruitment process.

With more than 25 years of experience across tourism, hospitality and aviation, Dr Pant is no stranger to the organisation, with previous stints as Tourism Fiji’s regional director for both Australia and New Zealand.

Board chair Ilisapeci Matatolu says the board is delighted to welcome back Dr Pant.

“His proven record of driving growth in key markets, combined with his deep understanding of Fiji’s tourism landscape, made him the clear choice for this role.”

Fiji Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Viliame Gavoka has endorsed the appointment.

“This appointment comes at a crucial time for the industry as we chart a course towards long-term growth,” he says.

“I am confident Dr Pant will bring in strategic leadership and vision to further strengthen Fiji’s global brand.”

Dr Pant says he is honoured to be entrusted with the role and is committed to “building on our strong foundations to ensure long-term, sustainable growth that benefits our communities, industry partners and the nation as a whole”.
