Two new international Perth routes for Qantas

The new routes will directly connect the Western Australian city with Johannesburg in South Africa and Auckland in New Zealand.

Once the routes commence, they will take the total number of Qantas seats in and out of Perth to 155,000 each year.

Both Perth-Johannesburg and Perth-Auckland routes will operate three times a week on a Qantas A330 aircraft.

These new flights have been made possible by funding allocated from the Federal Government to Australian Border Force and the Department of Agriculture Fisheries and Forestry to deliver additional border services at airports.

The funding will enable Perth Airport to invest in additional staffing, equipment and facilities that increase border and biosecurity capacity and allow the airport to host more international flights.
