Vinarchy corrects acquisition errors

Vinarchy, the new global wine company formed out of Accolade Wines and Pernod Ricard Winemakers, has corrected some incorrect media reports.

A number of media outlets have reported that Vinarchy has acquired South African wine brands Flagstone and Kumala, but the company has corrected this information.

A spokesperson for Vinarchy said: “The Flagstone and Kumala brands have been part of the Accolade Wines portfolio since 2008, these brands are not a new acquisition for Vinarchy.

“As previously announced, the Vinarchy business brings together the legacy brands of both Accolade Wines and Pernod Ricard Winemakers.”

Vinarchy was formed earlier this month following the merger of Accolade Wines and the Australian, New Zealand, and Spanish wine businesses formerly owned by Pernod Ricard.

Brands within the business, which will have annual net sales revenue exceeding AU$1.5bn include Stoneleigh, Brancott Estate, and Mud House in New Zealand, plus Australian favourites like Grant Burge, Jam Shed, and Petaluma, as well as a premium fine wine collection spanning St Hugo, St Hallett, Orlando, Church Rd, Ysios, and Tarsus. The company’s extensive assets include 11 wineries across Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Spain, producing over 32 million nine-litre equivalent (9LE) cases annually. Among these is Berri Estates, the largest winery in the Southern Hemisphere.
