Sydney-based brewery 4 Pines Brewing Co. has thrown its support behind the McGrath Foundation for the third consecutive year, releasing 4 Pines Pink Beer to raise funds for the charity.

Launched in celebration of the charitable sporting event Sydney Pink Test, 4 Pines Pink Beer is now pouring in 30 venues across New South Wales, and the brewery hopes to make a significant contribution to the foundation with profits from the special release.

Sarah Turner, Environmental & Social Impact Advisor at 4 Pines, told Beer & Brewer that the brewery also had a presence at the all-important Pink Test.

“The SCG poured our Pink Beer to keen cricket fans, helping to paint the stands pink in honour of the McGrath Foundation,” she stated.

“Through this partnership, all profits generated by the sale of the kegs from our warehouse will be donated to the McGrath Foundation.

“At 4 Pines, we believe in using our platform to support causes that truly matter. We’re proud to partner with the McGrath Foundation for the third year running, supporting their vital work in ensuring everyone facing cancer receives the care they deserve.

“Cancer touches so many of us in some way, whether personally or through loved ones, making it a deeply personal and universal cause. This partnership is our way of standing alongside them and contributing to making a meaningful impact,” she continued.

To create the limited-edition rose-coloured lager, 4 Pines added a pink tint to one of its crisp, dry and refreshing lagers. While the brewery’s fundraising goal is to support the McGrath Foundation’s new direction in expanding its expert care to cover all types of cancer, it also hopes to raise awareness of the cause with the bold-looking brew.

“In addition to supporting the McGrath Foundation’s mission from a funding standpoint, our bold and distinct Pink Beer helps to create awareness of a very noble cause. Its eye-catching colour is the perfect vehicle to spark conversation and gives Aussies a chance to bring mates together and make a difference all whilst watching an epic summer of cricket unfold,” Turner concluded.

Tracy Bevan, Ambassador and Director of the McGrath Foundation, emphasised the impact of the collaboration: “The Pink Test is an incredibly important event for us. Thanks to the amazing support from our community and dedicated partners like 4 Pines, we can continue to fund our nurses who provide clinical, psychosocial and emotional support to people experiencing cancer.”

Having sold more than 450,000 virtual seats for the Pink Test, the McGrath Foundation has so far raised over $9m, with the 4 Pines Pink Beer still pouring in select venues and raising funds.
