ALH Hotels launches Looking for Locals recruitment campaign

With nearly 500 roles to fill across the country, ALH Hotels has launched its Looking for Locals recruitment campaign, as the hospitality industry prepares for the busy summer season.

ALH Hotels Managing Director Paul Walton emphasised the importance of staff in creating an enjoyable experience at ALH Hotels venues, especially local pubs.

“There is something very special about the hospitality in Australia and even more special about our local pubs. Whether it’s showcasing the culinary delights Australia has to offer or building that connection to your local community over a beer, the pub has always been a mainstay of Australian culture,” he said.

Not just confined to metropolitan centres, ALH Hotels is currently offering a number of employment opportunities in regional areas for locals or those looking to escape the city rush.

“Our regional pubs offer a unique work experience, where our team members can enjoy the benefits of working in some of Australia’s most scenic areas with the chance to meet new people, develop valuable skills and be a part of close-knit communities,” Walton said.

Queensland currently has the most openings of any state, with ALH Hotels looking to fill 267 roles across 58 venues. This is followed by Western Australia, with 125 roles across 12 venues, NSW with 59 roles at 13 venues, and South Australia, with 30 roles across nine venues. In Victoria, there are currently 10 available roles at the Rye Hotel on the Mornington Peninsula.

While the majority of roles are for food and beverage attendants, there are also positions available for cooks, chefs and managers.

“We are always looking for assistant managers across our network and at the moment there are more than 50 roles vacant across the country. This is ideal for anyone who wants to step up their career in hospitality and grow their skill set,” Walton said.

ALH Hotels employees can access on-the-job training with hospitality industry leaders, build product knowledge and service skills through the Small Batch Learning platform, and accelerate their career with pathways and development programs. This focus on training provides employees with opportunities for career progression within the ALH Hotels network, as well as across Endeavour Group with brands such as Dan Murphy’s, BWS and Pinnacle Drinks.
