Alice Springs Brewing Co has been announced as a key beverage supplier at the 2025 Darwin Festival, joining Willing Distillery in showcasing the unique flavours of the Northern Territory.
Taking place from 7 to 24 August, the festival will feature its biggest Taste of Darwin program yet, with a renewed focus on Northern Territory producers, including locally crafted drinks.
Alice Springs Brewing Founder Kyle Pearson says a partnership with Darwin Festival is a massive win for the brewery.
“We have been working hard to approach key major events in the Territory to partner with. Darwin Festival is an amazing celebration of the arts and all things Northern Territory and we are proud to be partnering with them for 2025 and beyond.
“While partnerships of this size are common for larger outfits – for us this is a gamechanger and means we can expand things like capacity and people power.”
Having exclusively launched its Territorian brand in the Northern Territory market last year, the brand will lead with this range for its festival partnership.
“Territorian is an easy drinking and accessible beer with a flavour profile well suited to the NT climate. We will also have some of our other leading brands such as Specificale Pacific Ale and our category-leading Oh! Ginger brand.”
Sharing more about the principles behind the brand, Pearson added: “I heard someone smart once say ‘when you are brewing in the Outback you need to think of yourself as a ‘regional brewery’ rather than a craft one’ – and this is a philosophy we have embraced from the beginning.
“We are a long way from the inner suburban craft bars and our climate often doesn’t lend itself to some of the beer trends we see down south. We are focused on producing excellent beer over a range of different styles that are accessible to all Territorians.
“Whilst Territorians know good beer and the local breweries are accommodating them, you probably won’t see too many barrel-aged stouts in these parts,” he stated.
After winning gold in the Major Festivals and Events category at the national Qantas Tourism Australia Awards, Darwin Festival organisers are keeping the momentum going by doubling the Taste of Darwin program to feature six events showcasing the best local food and beverage suppliers.
Darwin Festival Artistic Director, Kate Fell, says: “We’re excited to really showcase what the Territory has to offer through a stronger focus on NT food and beverage suppliers and partners.”
“Darwin Festival has a long history of putting on cracking lineups and I know this year will be no exception. Even better, festivalgoers this year can enjoy an NT-owned and produced beer while soaking in everything the festival has to offer,” Pearson added.
The announcement follows Alice Springs Brewing’s decision to take its first step outside of the Northern Territory with the acquisition of Beer Garden Brewing in South Australia, marking a significant milestone for the brewery.
