Four of the bars along Sydney’s infamous Enmore Road and King Street have collectively launched all-new happy hour offerings, embodying the best of the Inner West’s small bar culture.
The line up includes Earl’s Juke Joint, Jacoby’s Tiki Bar, The Trocadero Room and The Magpie, with offers that range from $7 local beers to $12 cocktails from 5pm late into the evening.
In Newtown, happy hour at dive bar Earl’s Juke Joint is supported by Campari, with a selection of $15 cocktails including the Negroni, Aperol Spritz, Margarita, Espresso Martini, House Martini, Pornstar Spritz and Old Fashioned, accompanied by $10 wines and $8 tap beers.
Running Tuesday to Sunday from 6pm until 8pm, Owner Pasan Wijesena says: “Earl’s is where good tunes meet great company, all while sipping drinks created and poured with love by some of the city’s best bartenders.”
In Enmore, patrons can experience classic Tiki cocktails like the Mai Tai and Dark and Stormy for $15 at Jacoby’s Tiki Bar, alongside signature Jacoby’s cocktails, $12 tropical slushies, $10 rotating wines and house spirits, and $7 tap beers and party juice shots. For those interested in the bar’s expansive rum collection, happy hour also offers 20 per cent off all back bar rums.
Happy hour at Jacoby’s Tiki Bar takes place from 6-8pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and 5-7pm on Saturdays and Sundays, with an additional late night slot on Saturdays between midnight and 2am.
“We’re all about keeping it fun and inclusive while celebrating the best of tiki culture,” says Jacoby’s Co-owner Adrian Sanchez.
Another venue capturing late night trade is The Trocadero Room, where happy hour follows live music gigs from 10pm through to close. With an ever-changing line up of live music and comedy, late night revellers can enjoy $12 slushies and weekly cocktails, including the Frozen Fruit Tingle and Frozen Passion Fruit Margarita.
The venue will also be pouring $8 schooners of Grifter Pale Ale, Hawke’s Brewing Lager and Philter Brewing XPA, alongside a selection of wines and vodka for the same price.
Daniel Hunt, Co-owner of The Trocadero Room says: “The Troc’s Happy Hour is about keeping the energy alive long after the encore and supporting our late night curation which includes Inner West Hop. It’s the Inner West’s answer to a live music paradise and late-night antics.”
Enmore’s smallest pub The Magpie rounds out the happy hour offering in true community spirit, joining forces with The Grifter Brewing Co for pints at schooner prices from 4-6pm Tuesdays to Thursdays.
“This is our second collaboration with the legends at Grifter, following the success of Magpie Old – Dark Ale,” says The Magpie Owner Russell Martin.
“We wanted to create something lighter and perfect for the summer season, and Magpie Gold is just that. Swoop in, give it a crack, and see what the fuss is about – there’s nothing better than sharing a pint of something truly local.”
