The Coopers Foundation has announced Coopers Brewery’s Chief Financial Officer, Brad Grunert as its newest Board member, replacing Leanne Gelly who recently stepped down after 11 years on the Foundation Board.
Grunert has been with Coopers since 2015 and in addition to his role as CFO and Company Secretary of the Brewery, he also chairs the Foundation’s Investment Committee. He will take on the staff representative position of the Brewery’s charitable arm when he commences with the Board this month.
Coopers Foundation Chair, Melanie Cooper, said Grunert was a highly engaged leader who brings significant knowledge to the Foundation.
“We are thrilled to welcome Brad to the Coopers Foundation Board,” she said.
“Since Brad joined Coopers he has been a strong advocate for the Foundation.
“His skills and understanding of the Foundation will be invaluable as we continue to grow and expand our impact, making a tangible difference to the lives of Australians.”
Speaking about Gelly, Cooper added: “Leanne has made a significant and valued contribution to the Coopers Foundation for which we are very grateful.
“She has tirelessly supported our work to make a difference in the community and has been a champion of the Foundation among Brewery staff.”
Grunert joins two recent additions to the Board with former South Australian Premier, Steven Marshall, and sixth-generation family member, Bec Cooper Webster, appointed last October.
The Coopers Foundation has donated more than $8.2m in funds, supporting more than 370 projects, since it was established by Coopers Brewery and the Cooper family in 2006.
