The accolades keep coming for Maybe Sammy and its incredible bar team named one of the world’s most influential bars by Top 500 Bars at its award ceremony in Paris.
This year’s Most Influential Bar in the World is Himkok, based in Oslo, a bar which embraces its Norwegian heritage and also features a fully-functioning micro-distillery.
Top 500 Bars said of the bar: “Himkok is an acclaimed cocktail bar embodying Norwegian culture through their handcrafted cocktails and distilled spirits. This is expressed through a cocktail menu showcasing and celebrating centuries of Norwegian traditions.
“Inspired by traditional techniques they convey their vision through classic cocktails combined with Scandinavian flavours using modern technology.
“With a fully functioning micro-distillery, they strive to create drinks and products with a pure Nordic taste through sustainable and empirical production.”
Maybe Sammy was named number one most influential bar by the Top 500 Bars last year, and stayed in the Top 10 this year, coming in at number eight.
Top 500 Bars said: “Maybe Sammy takes inspiration from the roaring fifties, the rebirth of cool, the era where fashion and fun prevailed. A time when The Rat Pack and Hollywood glamour were revered and admired.
“Their Signature Drinks are named after some of ‘the boys’ favourite haunts on the Vegas strip. Take a look through the Mini Martinis list and you will instantly recognise their ode to the most iconic cocktails of all time.”
The list is compiled using data aggregated from over 2000 sources across the internet, and in more than 20 languages. The opinions of experts, journalists and influencers are used rankings, reviews on platforms, social media and search engines to complete the data set.
Top 500 Bars says its algorithm is “about finding a complementary ranking with existing selections to highlight the daily work of individuals who drive this industry”.
