With plans for global expansion, Stryda Brewing Co. has announced a new partnership with Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios, who has joined the business as co-owner and brand ambassador.
As the brewery sets its sights on international markets, Kyrgios hopes to bring his trademark energy to the brand and help to drive its presence in domestic and international markets.
“I’m excited to be part of Stryda. We’re here to shake things up, bring new energy to beer, and create something special for everyone to enjoy,” he stated.
Responding to a shift in consumption habits of younger consumers, Stryda launched in November last year with a view to create beers that are refreshing and easy-drinking, embracing wellness and moderation trends with its low-carb, low-calorie 2.2 per cent ABV lager alongside a 4.4 per cent signature brew.
According to David Gibson, CEO of Stryda Brewing Co., welcoming Kyrgios to the team will allow the brewery to challenge the mainstream beer industry with healthier options and carve out a unique space in the market.
“Our vision is to create a mainstream Australian brand that resonates with beer lovers both locally and globally. We are committed to building a brand with community at its heart,” he explained.
From branded taprooms to dynamic community events, experiences will be at the forefront of the strategy, with a focus on engaging Stryda’s loyal following.
Marketing Director Kirsty Basman said: “At Stryda, we believe in creating unforgettable experiences that bring people together, making our brand a beloved Australian icon.”
Aligned with the mindful drinking habits of Millennials and Gen Z, Stryda hopes that Kyrgios’ international appeal will help the brand to showcase the balance of full-strength and low-alcohol options on a global scale and establish itself as a symbol of community.
Head Brewer Riaz Shalla says: “Stryda’s beers are designed to win the hearts of beer enthusiasts in Australia and around the world. We focus on quality ingredients, balanced flavours, and a beer that suits any occasion. We want to put Australian beer on the map. It’s about that feeling you get when you crack open a bottle and share it with mates.”
