Three of the world’s most-awarded bars are headlining Perth Cocktail Weekend as part of culinary event Plateful Perth 2024.

Bar teams from Galaxy Bar (Dubai), Salmon Guru (Madrid), and Maybe Sammy (Sydney) will take over Perth venues from 9-10 August.

Each of the three bars are currently ranked on The World’s 50 Best Bars list, with Galaxy Bar ranked at no.50, Salmon Guru at no.16, and Maybe Sammy at no.15.

Bartenders from Galaxy Bar will be serving cocktails at Songbird; with the team from Salmon Guru (16) taking over Terrarium and Maybe Sammy’s crew (15) heading to Mechanics Institute.

“With Perth Cocktail Weekend we set out to showcase a scale of mixology that has never before been seen in Perth and in doing so make waves in the community and build the city’s reputation as serious contenders on the mixology scene,” says Marco Barsotti, who helped launch the weekend and currently works as beverage & bars manager at The Ritz-Carlton Perth.

As well as the takeovers, visiting bar talent will participate in masterclasses and other events, providing an opportunity for local bartenders to learn from the best.

Bookings are not essential for the cocktail takeovers, but can be made at each participating Perth venue.
