The NZ Fruit Wine & Cider Makers Association has opened entries to New Zealand’s largest fruit wine and cider competition.

Entrants will compete in 32 commercial classes of ciders and fruit wines/meads, blind-tasted by an expert judging panel.

Jody Scott, Chair of FWCMA, says the cider category in New Zealand is continuing to develop and mature with more and more interesting quality ciders and fruit wines being produced.

“Entering the awards is an excellent way to compare products against industry benchmarks in New Zealand, receive independent feedback from industry experts and potentially win a coveted medal,” he says.

Entries close on Tuesday, 17 September, and the results will be announced at an event on Friday, 1 November, the day before the NZ Cider Festival.
