Entries open tomorrow (April 10) for the sixth annual NZ Spirits Awards.

Presented by Spirits New Zealand Inc. and Distilled Spirits Aotearoa (NZ) Inc., the New Zealand Spirits Awards is a celebration of the very best in local and international spirits.

Judged by a panel of industry experts, the top spirits in each of the 20+ categories are recognised with bronze, silver, gold and double-gold medals.

The absolute best are then recognised with Trophies awarded for “Best New Zealand” and “Best Overall” in each category.

This year, organisers have introduced four new categories: NZ Best Cocktail Bar Award, Fever-Tree Best Pairing Award, NZ Bartender of the Year Award and NZ Best Cocktail Menu Award.

Trophies are also awarded annually for the best New Zealand Emerging Product Award, New Zealand Packaging Design Award and  New Zealand Innovation Award.

Judging is set to take place in Wellington in mid-July, with medal winners announced on 24 July and trophy winners awarded on 15 August.
