Far North Queensland’s Taste Port Douglas festival is returning for its 8th year with a stellar line-up of events featuring some of the country’s top culinary talents.

The festival will be held from 8-11 August with a program of masterclasses, long lunches, parties, fire-kissed meals, and more across both Port Douglas and Cairns.

“This year’s Taste Port Douglas will be a culinary celebration like no other, with a spectacular lineup of events and masterclasses hosted by some of the best talent in the country,” says Co-Founder and Culinary Director Spencer Patrick.

“Following the cyclone in December it’s been a tricky start to the year for the local community and businesses, and we’re now excited to see the festival bring FNQ back to life, welcoming both interstate and international guests to feast with us once again.”

Highlights from the program include a masterclass series with Ben Williamson of AnyDay Hospitality (Agnes, Bianca) who will share more about his open-fire eatery Agnes in Brisbane.

Guests are also able to book in for the Lexus long lunch which features dishes from guest chefs Telina Menzies (Australian Venue Co.), Louis Tickeram (Stanley Restauarnt), Adam D’Sylva (chef and restaurateur), and Julian Hills (Navi).

Chefs Massimo Mele (Grain of the Silos, Peppina), Laura and Max Sharrad (Nido Bar & Pasta), and Bente Grysbaek (Ignite Catering) will also be on the pans to host the La Dolce Vita Italian long lunch that also includes a live cheese-making demo by Vannella Cheese.

Nick Holloway of Palm Cove’s Nu Nu will also be teaming up with Ben Williamson (Anyday Hospitality), Aaron Ward (Bathers’ Pavilion), Julian Hills (Navi), and Louis Tickeram (Stanley Restaurant) to host a fire-kissed dinner in the heart of the rainforest.

The Sunday will also see the festival village come alive at the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort where guests will be invited to stroll through live cooking demonstrations and masterclasses; pop-up food and drink stalls from the participating chefs; local distillers and brewers; live music; roving performers and more.
