Last week IWSC expert judges retasted all gold-medal winning wines from the IWSC 2024 for the final endorsement – IWSC’s wine trophies.

The panels were formed of on-trade and off-trade wine professionals. The IWSC Judging Committee members – Alistair Cooper MW, Mick O’Connell MW, John Hoskins MW, Dirceu Vianna Junior MW and Alex Hunt MW were joined by our esteemed judges – Isa Bal MS, David Kermode, Victoria Mason MW, Rebecca Palmer and Melania Battiston.

With nearly 7,000 wines tasted throughout the 2024 awards, the experts awarded 24 outstanding entries with this year’s trophies.

The 2024 trophy-winning wines include four sparkling, 12 still dry wines and eight sweet/fortified wines.

Trophies were awarded to Premium Liquor Mutu Reserve Merlot-Cabernet 2020 and Marisco Vineyards The Craft Series Pride And Glory Sauvignon Blanc 2022.

Following their stellar medal performance at the 2024 judging, sweet & fortified wines scooped eight wine trophies, four of which went to Sherries.

Sparkling wines received four wine trophies, equally distributed between Champagne and English Sparkling.

Looking at still dry wines, Australia stood out as one of the most decorated countries achieving four trophies and South African wines received three trophies.
